Road Trip'n

In the spirit of spontaneity, husbino and I threw our bags in the car and headed to the Oregon Coast for Thanksgiving weekend. We had been told how amazing it is but after being slightly underwhelmed by Tofino, 'the surf capital of Canada', we were hesitant to get our hopes too high about this place. How wrong we were, it is amazing! It really is a ruggedly beautiful coast and it spreads for miles...we found out just how long it stretched after driving through town after town looking for vacancies. The down side of being spontaneous is the lack of prepared accommodation...

Still, the best part about road trips is the uninterrupted time to analyse the important things in life: which greasy diner looks the least greasy, what to purchase in a tax free state, and what life will be like in our soon to be home city of Wellington, NZ!

Although in some ways we very much feel as thought we are going back home, it really does feel like we are moving forward to the next exciting challenge in our lives. Sometimes God makes it quite obvious what He wants to achieve in particular life circumstances, but most of the time, in my experience, it is very ambiguous at least to begin. Going to Wellington was a tough decision in our minds and took a long while to warm to, but the peace we now feel about it testifies the fact that God does have a purpose and a will for us to be there. It has been exciting to see how God works through His word, in our thoughts and through our experiences to gradually reveal things to us all in good time and in a way that is not too much for us to handle all at once. This has been the verse in the front of my mind for the past little while:
"Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6.33
Although we are so sad to be leaving our friends and experiences here, we are excited about what the future holds!
